| MoMo Twins; Monochorionic Monoamniotic Twins |
If you have just found out you are pregnant with MoMo twins, you might like to join the Monoamniotic.org forum in the US, or post on one of the Australian forums like Essential Baby to speak to others with the same condition.
MoMo twins are monozygotic multiples that develop in a single, shared amniotic sac. The situation causes risk to the babies due to cord entanglement.
Only around 1 percent of all twin pregnancies will be monoamniotic, so MoMo twins are very rare. There are a number of families in the Australian Multiple Birth Association with MoMo twins, so we recommend joining the AMBA Forum should you wish to find out more.
Mothers of MoMo multiples should use an obstetrician specialising in high risk pregnancies). For a searchable database of obstetricians in your area, click here.
